La belle vie en France

November 21, 2006

After a rather heavy week with exams and slightly reduced health, I was lucky enough to say goodbye to the rain and cold of the Norwegian fall and go to the south of France where the sun always shines :) My mother and I’ve had a wonderful four days break from everyday life and spent some time in the Pyrenees, the mountains in France bordering on Spain. Fall in France this time of year is beautiful and highly recomendable! Had a stop by London for a day on our way back. Met Maria (one of the girls I went to India with) who’s currently studying there. To everyone she knows: she says hello :)

To no surprise I managed to do some shopping on my way, and am no the proud owner of red pumps, black boots and a red silk dress! What more does a girl need?

Looking forward, most of my time will be spent at work in the kindergarden. Exams are finished for 2006.. I am now brushing up on my rusty french and crossing my fingers when I jump into french classes at university of Bergen this coming spring.

Priority of the month: sleep and health

lack of air

November 7, 2006

The kids have finally broken down my immunesystem.. it took them awhile, but they managed at the end. I now feel like a lazy, out of shape KOLS patient with a maximum lung capacity of 40%. A virus of some sort. It’ll pass. Meanwhile I have plenty of time to sit still and live in cyberspace, whilst nicely drugged on strong cough medecine :)

Let me tell you this new theory I have. It happens when the lungs have a lack of air. My theory is that it affects the brain, it gives it powers it didn’t have before. I’ve become a psycic… It’s true. I dreamt something and it came true! The hypothesis is that lack of air to the brain breaks down the rational barriers of the mind, especially released  whilst sleeping.  Hence, I’ve become claire voyant. Ask me anything people, I will dream the answer!

Hm… come to think of it though, I dreamt last night that a giraffe was chasing me while I ran through the forest on stylts.. the likelyhood of this coming true is rather small so my superpowers might be gone already. Which means I’m getting better. So I guess, all in all, it’s a good thing I’m getting back to my normal self :)   Soon I’ll stop gasping for air! I promise then that my writing will get back to "normal" in a short while. When I get my rationality back :)

soul food

November 4, 2006

Yesterday I got enough soulfood to last me awhile. After a long day at work with headache and kids in a bad combination with rain, I badly needed some uplifting. And I got exactely that! I went to a concert with the jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves! It was amazing. I’d say she was almost in the same class as Ella… Almost. And those of you who know me well, know that good jazz is something I highly appreciate. The joy of hearing this women scat, bob, sing, .. and the incredible band that came with it, it can’t be described. It has to be experienced.

I guess my point of all this is that sometimes, all that  is needed to  change a day from  negative to positive, is  some music that goes right into your spine and body and stays with you for a long time after.

Dianne Reeves, ladies and gentlemen, for some soulful uplifting!
